Clan Information: Clan Johnston consists of at least two district groups, those of Annandale in Dumfries and Galloway, and those of Caskieben in Aberdeeshire. The crest for the Annandale badge consists of the Chief’s crest (a winged spur) upon which is inscribed “Never Unprepared.” The crest for the Caskieben consists of a phoenix upon which is inscribed the motto “Live as you would be remembered.” The Chief is the Right Honourable Earl of Hartell and Annandale.
